The Story
Created to celebrate the 150th anniversary of the Royal Agricultural University, this design draws upon the University's rich archives to honour its longstanding excellence in agriculture, agri-business, equine studies, food, and land and property management.
The hand-drawn 'Cirencester' lettering is inspired by an historic document from 1847 recording Isambard Kingdom Brunel's association with the institution. Botanical illustrations reference the University's herbarium, a collection dating back to 1797, while a historic University emblem adorns a horse's bridle in tribute to its equestrian heritage. The University's Latin motto is woven throughout the design, celebrating its enduring commitment to understanding and shaping the British countryside in all its forms.
